Broadway Revival of ‘Les Miserables’ Starts Rehearsals Monday!

Les-Miserables-Broadway-2014-leadsThe long-awaited return of Cameron Mackintosh’s Tony Award-winning masterpiece Les Misérables takes its first steps on Monday, January 13, 2014, when rehearsals begin in New York City.

This re-imagined production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schönberg’s hit dramatic musical begins previews on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Imperial Theatre, with the official opening night scheduled for Sunday, March 23.

As previously announced, the all-star cast includes Ramin Karimloo, of the West End and current Toronto production of Les Misérables, plus The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies in London, starring as “Jean Valjean”.  “Javert” will be played by Will Swenson, the Tony Award-nominated  star of Broadway’s Hair and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.  “Fantine” will be performed by Caissie Levy, of the West End and Broadway productions of Ghost and Hair as well as “Elphaba” in Broadway’s Wicked.  The Tony Award winner for The Book of Mormon, Nikki M. James, will star as “Eponine”, and “Smash” heartthrob Andy Mientus will play “Marius”.
